Technician Training

To staff our laboratory with qualified technicians, we have created our own onsite training facility. We offer an earn-as-you-learn program that teaches the methods, procedures and skills required to become a dental lab technician.

Prospective training candidates must be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the United States and must complete an employment application. Each application is carefully reviewed with emphasis on candidates who are team players with a positive work ethic. Previous success in the area of industrial arts is also considered but not a requirement.

Based on the results of the review and current openings in the program, a candidate may be invited for pre-hire testing of aptitude levels in small motor skills, manual dexterity, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Upon achievement of acceptable test scores, a candidate will be contacted for a personal interview. Successful completion of all pre-hire steps may result in an offer of employment in an entry level training position.

The length of the training period varies for each individual and can take from one to two years, depending upon the trainee's abilities. There is a system within the curriculum to continually evaluate the trainee's progress, their potential for success as a dental lab technician, and their continued position in the training program.
